we’ve been called home… 

it’s time to make our way,
by land and by sea...

like the rolling hills, one followed by another,  
in fair isle fashion, en plein air … 
cable-knit silhouettes dot the landscape … 
a dance there … a cheers here…
we won’t go it alone … 

overcast … downfilled… 
wool flannel keeps us warm along the way… 
twisting, turning, sticks and stones, 
stripes slung over your shoulder … 
pleated skirts brush up against bruised knees… 
coattails to the wind, 

we’ve made it this far … 
all aboard … 
brass buttons … black tie … 
watch the world pass us by … 

closer now … 
we know the way home from here …
