madame, s’il vous plaît, a stroll in the garden.
dans le jardin.
nous arrivons. a pannier, a robe a la polonaise.
a secret.
bells chime, an oboe swells, a faerie choir.
melody and mist in a garden of seersucker delight.
pink spectator tie back shoes glide through morning dew.
a waking dream.
sun rises, mist fades.
thunder and metal and chaos, voici les dames.
trompe l’oeil with draped pannier in pink silk taffeta seersucker.
behind the veil, an 18th century fever dream in prep,
gliding in pink seersucker mules.
floating, like a boater parasol.
peplum and boucle tweed,
slashed hem stomacher in white oxford.
promenades of mischief.
ladies of the queen’s court in a seersucker garden,
silk taffeta and sheer organdy
pleated and gathered, embroidered and laminated,
slashed and frayed.
chaos quiets, the storm clears, an aria.
delicacy in trompe l’oeil pannier, classic suit in multi-color seersucker.
cricket framing, crickets singing, nature in its glory.
le jardin est un secret.
18th century prep becomes 1980s punk.
la reine, elle est dans un fever dream.
pastel becomes navy and grey and white.
ruched and scrunched, layered and tailored.
her secret garden, a place of mystery and delight.
hair rises behind the veil.
behind a boned cage a rare bird sings.
heels disappear through seersucker grass.
gilded in trompe l’oeil, tailored in tweed and taffeta,
bullion and seed beaded toile, gathered volume in white sheer seersucker.
the ladies make their mark.
the aria in a final crescendo as the day fades.
a waking dream, a fever dream, is it over?
a froth of tulle and lace, embroidery and appliqué
a garden of fantasy.
tell me a secret, now we must go…
