through fresh fallen snow …
she is off on her course …

there’s a guide up ahead,
and a second gentle nod …
then a third ...
a fourth, fifth …
and a sixth, seventh, eighth ...
the course is now clear …is this the road’s end...
it can’t be, she knows it …
there’s further to go ...
the ninth guide appears …

the guides show the way ...
