THOM BROWNE: THE MODERN UNIFORM

This exhibition explores the creative world of Thom Browne including ten years of archival creations and reimagined conceptual projects, all exhibited using Browne’s signature 1950s-inspired interior design aesthetic. The space is divided into three rooms, each exploring different concepts that are important to the brand ethos.

The first room pays homage to installations originally created by Browne for Le Bon Marche Rive Gauche (2015) and the Cooper Hewitt Museum (2016), now shown for the first time in Asia. Covered completely in mirrors, the installation room features silver plated Thom Browne wing-tip shoes and mid-century design objects, all specifically positioned to evoke a sense of strict uniformity.

The second room feautures a unique selection of men’s and women’s archival pieces set within a box adorned with Browne’s signature white slatted blinds. Finally, the third room showcases video footage of Browne’s renowned runway shows beginning from his earliest collections until present day.

Browne notes, “The support that 10 Corso Como Seoul has given to me and the collections over the years has been very important to me and the success of Thom Browne in Korea. This exhibition is a testament to that support. I’m looking forward to customers experiencing and understanding the different ways I approach design”.

To celebrate the exhibition opening, Thom Browne has designed five exclusive postcards inspired by his collection sketches, all available as take away gifts.

Open today through Nov 5th at 10 Corso Como, Seoul, from 11 am - 8 pm.
